Levi Roots creator and founder of ‘Reggae, Reggae Sauce’ and ‘Dragon Slayer’ confirmed as a keynote speaker for the Be Inspired! 2008 Conference on Monday 24th November
About Levi Roots:
Levi was thrown into the forefront of the nation’s consciousness in 2007 thanks to a successful stint on the BBC 2 programme ‘Dragon’s Den’ where he introduced his home‐made ‘Reggae Reggae Sauce’ and received the backing of entrepreneurs Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh, in return for a 40% stake in his business.
Almost immediately after appearing on the show, with the help of Dragon Peter Jones, Levi won an exclusive listing at Sainsbury’s for his ‘Reggae Reggae Sauce’ and he now has three successful sauces under the LEVI ROOTS brand and has published his ‘Reggae Reggae Cookbook’.

Wilfred Emmanuel Jones "The
Black Farmer" to speak
at Bristol conference.
About Wilfred Emmanuel
Jones
Born
and raised first in Jamaica
and then inner city Birmingham,
Wilfred Emmanuel Jones has taken
his passion from the West Indies
and combined it with inspiration
from his farm in Devon to produce
a range of products under the
label The Black Farmer.
Originally
Wilfred his products are sold
across the country in leading
supermarkets. In 2005 Wilfred
launched a Rural Scholarship,
introducing an agricultural
way of life to young people
from culturally diverse communities
living in the inner cities.
Eight young people were given
the opportunity to experience
what it was really like to live
and work in the rural community
and spent six weeks being mentored
by The Black Farmer on and around
his farm in Devon. The series
‘Young Black Farmers’
was aired on Channel 4 and was
a great success, promoting the
idea that there are opportunities
to forge a life and career in
the countryside.
We are pleased to announce Ruth
Badger (BBC’s The Apprentice
and Sky One’s Badger or
Bust) and Michelle Mone (Founder
MJM International) will be speaking
at the Bristol conference.
About
Ruth Badger
Ruth
Badger gained a cult following
as the straight-talking finalist
on The Apprentice. Affectionately
known as The Badger, Ruth proved
to be a ruthless saleswoman
and a driven candidate.
After dropping
out of full time education at
16, Ruth’s first big break
came when she was hired by a
local financial services company.
Within weeks she managed to
turn an under-performing team
into one of most successful
in the division, earning the
‘employee of the year’
accolade.
Ruth soon doubled
her earning potential by moving
to a national company, where
her bosses recognised her business
and management potential and
transferred her to head office
as Operations Manager.
Further
promotion and success followed,
and Ruth became an important
part of the management team,
playing a key role in growing
revenues and profits as well
as ensuring a smooth flotation
on the Stock Market.
Due
to a family illness, Michelle
left school at fifteen with
no qualifications. After a brief
spell as a fashion model, she
took a job making the tea at
Labatts. Just eighteen months
later, she was made head of
the Canadian brewer's Scottish
salesforce.
Michelle launched
her own company, MJM International,
after noticing a gap in the
lingerie market for a comfortable
cleavage-enhancing bra. The
company initially acted as a
distributor for silicone breast
enhancers, to keep money rolling
in while Michelle worked on
her own creation.
After three
years’ development, the
Ultimo Bra was launched at Selfridges
amidst huge media interest.
The store sold their entire
stock within 24 hours. Then
it was famously worn by Julia
Roberts in Erin Brockovich,
and it quickly became the fastest
growing ‘intimate apparel’
brand in Europe. Success has
led to the expansion of the
Ultimo collection - with lingerie,
underwear, nightwear and swimwear.
The company has since secured
the licence in 45 countries
for some of the biggest lingerie
brands, making MJM an important
global player.
Michelle is
regarded as one of Scotland's
most promising entrepreneurs,
thanks to her constant hunger
to develop new products and
new ways of looking at problems.
2007 sees the launch of Michelle’s
Trim Secrets. Speeches are inspirational,
entertaining and down-to-earth.
Michelle Mone
is a board member of The Prince’s
Scottish Youth Business Trust,
and Save the Children. She also
writes for The Sun as their
‘Business Doctor’.
